Crowds gather on O'Connell Bridge to watch rescue of man from River Liffey
Six fire engines rushed to rescue a man who had gotten into difficulty in the River Liffey last night.
Units from Kilbarrack station and Phibsboro station attended the scene beside Dublin's O'Connell Bridge.
The river rescue boat also assisted in the operation which occurred shortly after 10pm last night.
Crowds of spectators socialising in the city centre on a busy Saturday night gathered to watch from the bridge and quays.
A life buoy was deployed and the man was successfully rescued and treated by the ambulance at the scene.
