One lucky Lotto punter has just won €1bn.
At least that's what the National Lottery website said.
With winning numbers of 8, 9, 17, 33, 36 and 40 (and of course the bonus number 15), a whopping €1bn is apparently available to be claimed.
"Congrats you just won €1 Billion Whoohoo Yippee," reads the post under the numbers drawn from the main Lotto tumble.
And yet the Lotto jackpot tonight is actually a comparatively more conservative €2m.
This technical glitch is the latest in a line of recent embarrassments suffered by the National Lottery.
In February, one customer was unhappy to discover that four Quick Pick tickets purchased at the same outlet carried exactly the same numbers.
Earlier the same month, a highly anticipated €10m draw was postponed following a 'service outage' which left machines across the country out of action.
