Commuters advised to allow for delays following a Luas power failure
Commuters are advised to allow for delays due to a breakdown in the Luas line this morning.
The Red line between Red Cow and Tallaght/Saggart is currently out of service in both directions due to an earlier power failure.
“An alternative Luas bus is dropping and collecting at all affected stops between Tallaght/Saggart and Red Cow approx every 30 minutes,” read a statement issued by Luas.
“A valid Luas ticket is required to travel on these buses,” the statement adds.
“We are doing our utmost to restore a full line as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the statement read.
However, angry commuters took to social media claiming that shuttle buses were not in operation.
“We would suggest that you avail of Dublin Bus services if possible as the alternative bus is limited,” read a tweet from the Luas Twitter account in reply to a frustrated commuter.
Red Line services between The Point/Connolly and Red Cow are operating as normal.
