Coastguard rescues man with head injuries from fishing trawler

The Dublin based coastguard search and rescue helicopter was involved in a rescue operation off the north east coast after a fisherman suffered head injuries in an accident on board a trawler this morning.

Rescue helicopter 116 assisted the Belfast coastguard in the medevac from the vessel 25 miles off Carlingford.

The injured man was being brought to Daisy Hill hospital in Newry after being evacuated from the trawler.
