Climbing Ireland's highest mountain on a cold winter's day has never looked this good Newsdesk Newsdesk

This incredible drone footage captures the sheer beauty of Ireland's highest peak on a cold Winter day.

Michael Meade decided to take on Carrauntoohil in Co Kerry last week.

Parts of the spectacular peak, which stands at 1,038m, were covered in snow and ice.

And luckily for Michael, and us, it was a clear day - giving him the opportunity to capture this amazing video.

The clip is almost six minutes long but it shows the climbers winding their way along the route before they eventually reach the famous iron cross, which sits at the summit.

Music: 'Solitude' by Conor O'Sullivan.
