There may be commuter chaos this evening after a vehicle caught fire on a busy motorway.

AA Roadwatch has warned that traffic is heavy on the M11 Dublin/Wexford southbound road after the incident.

The road has since re-opened at the Junction 5 bray North but they advised motorists to expect delays.

AA Roadwatch said: "Traffic remains very heavy from before J16 Cherrywood on the M50 past J5 Bray North.

"It’s also heavy exiting at J5 Bray North heading into Bray itself, and on the Wyattville Link Rd to the N11, which is slow from Loughlinstown."

They added: "To avoid the delays, exit the M50 at J15 Kilternan and take the Glenamuck Rd and Enniskerry Rd (R117)."
