Gardai are investigating the burglary of a home in December where an urn containing the ashes of a two-year-old boy was stolen.

The robbery occurred at a family home at Fosterbrook, Booterstown, Co. Dublin between Saturday December 20, 2014 at 12pm and 4pm the following day.

The sentimental urn contained the ashes of the parents’ baby son who died aged 29 months.

It is described as a three inch by three inch wooden box with a stainless steel lid.

Gardaí at Donnybrook Garda Station have asked anyone with any information about this burglary, or to anyone who may know the current location of the urn, to come forward and assist the investigation and the family.

Various items including an iPad and jewellery were also reported missing after the robbery.
