Boy (14) needs surgery after man aged in 30s hits him in face

A 14-year-old boy needed surgery after he was attacked by a 6ft 2" man aged in his 30s.

The child was out with two friends when they were approached by the man in Green Gables Manor off the Green Road in Conlig, Co Down at around 10pm last Sunday.

The boy was punched in the face.

Police said: "Unfortunately the punch caused serious damage and the young boy has had to undergo surgery on Monday due to the injury on his jaw.

"The male has been described as being in early 30s, 6’2”, muscular build, short brown/dark hair, spiked on top wearing blue Polo top and jeans. This male may well live in this general area and we would appeal that if anyone knows him to please get in touch.
