A BANK is seeking summary judgment for around €4m against a couple arising out of default on finance agreements and loan facilities it provided to them.

AIB and AIB Mortgage Bank have brought proceedings against Thomas and Josephine Maloney, Carramore, Kiltimagh Road, Knock, Co Mayo, and against their company Thomas Maloney Builders Ltd.

AIB seeks judgment against the couple for €2.9m for loans and guarantees dating back to 2008 and for which the bank demanded repayment earlier this year.

AIB Mortgage Bank seeks judgment against them both for €1.1m.

The case was entered into the Commercial Court list on consent between the parties.  Mr Justice Brian McGovern adjourned the case to October.
