'Bad start to a driving career' - Learner driver tests positive for two types of drugs
A motorist had a "bad start" to their driving career when they tested positive for cocaine and cannabis last night.
Gardai had a busy weekend on our roads as they shared details about a number of offences on Twitter.
One offender was a learner driver who failed a drug test.
They wrote: "Dublin Traffic – Mandatory Intoxicant Testing Sat night – ‘L’ driver tested positive for Cocaine & Cannabis – bad start to a driving career!"

Another offence highlighted was a driver who was caught speeding.
Gardai Tweeted: "Wicklow Traffic: Driver detected driving at 170kph on M11 at Ashford today in wet conditions."

The speed limit on the M11 is 120kph and gardai revealed tha the motorist has been arrested and charged with dangerous driving.
They urged the public to "please slow down."
