Gardaí have arrested a man in his 50s following the discovery of a suspect device in Dublin.

As part of a Gardaí investigation a search was carried out at house in Dominics Terrace, Tallaght at 8am on Thursday.

During the search a suspect device was discovered.

It has since been removed by the Army EOD team for analysis.

A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene and was brought to Tallaght Garda Station where he is detained under Section 30 of the Offence Against the State Act 1939.
