Apology: Thomas Brennan
In the edition of the Sunday Independent published last Sunday June 4th we published an article entitled "Six kilos of TNT discovered in Dublin 'could have made 30 bombs'".
Alongside a section in the article on his brother Patrick Brennan of Lindisfarne Avenue, Clondalkin, County Dublin, Thomas Brennan was wrongly identified, by reason of an innocent mistake, as a "dissident republican" who was caught on board a bus to Derry with a quantity of TNT explosives and detonators.
We acknowledge that Thomas Brennan is not involved in any criminal activities whatsoever and has no involvement in dissident republicanism. The Sunday Independent wishes to unreservedly apologise to Thomas Brennan for the distress and embarrassment which the publication of our article caused.
