Almost 75pc of public servants will enjoy a wage boost over next three years
ALMOST three quarters of public servants will enjoy a wage boost of at least 7pc over the next three years after unions backed a pay deal with the government this morning.
The public service unions affiliated to the Irish Congress of Trade Unions ratified the Public Service Stability Agreement at a meeting this morning.
However, industrial action could be on the cards at schools as teacher unions have either rejected or recommended that their members reject the deal.
They want the government to reverse a two-tier pay system that means recruits since 2011 get paid less than staff who joined before that.
