Alex Higgins' son hospitalised after he was 'hit by partner's car following row' - reports
The son of Northern Ireland snooker legend Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins' needed hospital treatment following a row with his partner, it has been reported.
The Sun reports that Jordan Higgins had a row with his partner Leigh Buckley before being hit by her car and later taken to hospital.
Buckley, a 31-year-old mum-of-four was arrested and appeared in court on Monday charged with attempted murder, the paper reported.
It was alleged Buckley got into her car and ran him over following a blazing row leaving Jordan "for dead".
The couple - who got engaged in March - were said to have had a row at their home in Manchester on Saturday which spilled out onto the street.
The 33-year-old Higgins suffered serious injuries including a fractured cheek, and was in hospital for two days before discharging himself.
Jordan was jailed in 2014 for robbing a newsagents in Manchester, and has battled drug and alcohol addictions in the past.
He was admitted to a rehabilitation clinic at the age of just 14.
It's been claimed he struggled living in the shadow of his father who died aged 61, in August 2010 after battling throat cancer.
Jordan was born a year after his father won the World Snooker Championship in 1982.
