'A hole in our hearts that no time will heal' - Mother's tribute to teenage son who died in car crash
The heartbroken mother of a teenage boy who was killed in a car crash on Tuesday has said his death "has left a hole in our hearts that no time will heal."
Sharon Case said that she keeps expecting her son (16) to walk in the door.
Adam died when the car he was a back seat passenger in a car that crashed into a tree off the Ballingarry North to Cloughjordan Road in Co Tipperary on Tuesday at 3.45pm.
A 22-year-old man is understood to be seriously injured and a 17-year-old girl was also hospitalised after the crash.
Adam, who was from Abbeyleix in Co Laois, but had been living in Shinrone, Co Offaly, has been remembered fondly.
His mother Sharon is now urging people to " always wear your seatbelt in memory of our baby boy."
Writing on Facebook. Ms Case also thanked everyone who has supported her family during their ordeal.
She said: "We are truly humbled by the hundreds of private messages, comments, texts, phone calls and support from our family and friends.
"I knew Adam was a popular, outgoing young man.
"But no words can describe how much love I realised so many young and old people had for my baby boy."
She added: "He has left a hole in our hearts that no time will heal."
Offaly County Councillor Sean Maher said that people were shocked by the news as he extended his condolences to Adam's grieving family and friends.
The Sinn Fein representative told Independent.ie: "It's tragic, I know his family.
"I'm so sorry for their loss and I'd like to sympathise with them at this awful time.
"It's absolutely tragic, he was just 16 and he had his whole life ahead of him.
"My thoughts are with them."
Adam will be reposing at his family home in Derrinclare today and tomorrow and the funeral will take place at St Kieran's Church in Cloughjordan on Saturday at 2pm.
