'A fun night at the races' - Cyclists have lucky escape after horse jumps ditch and joins tour Newsdesk Newsdesk

These cyclists had a lucky escape when a horse jumped over a ditch and raced out in front of them.

The dramatic footage was captured during a stage of the Foyle Cycling Club Tour of the North West stage race in Co Donegal.

A peloton of riders is seen cycling along the road when a large horse suddenly jumps out in front of them, missing the lead cyclists by inches.

The action was captured and posted online by Jonny Collins who joked that it was a "fun night at the races".

Nobody was hurt in the incident.
