More than 17,000 flowers and €10m to the Irish economy – bloomin' marvellous!

The World Flower Arrangers Show was an oasis of calm and a welcome relief to flower enthusiasts and local businesses as Ireland's hot spell continued.

Roses, carnations and orchids were all part of an explosion of colour in Dublin's RDS as 20,000 people descended on the one-off event. Flowers imported from 12 different countries were featured by 668 competitors over four days, finishing up today.

Five years in the planning, it's the first time the show has been held in Ireland.
