NEW offices are being set up in county council offices to help local small businesses get up and running.

A system of 31 Local Enterprise Offices will replace the existing 35 County and City Enterprise Boards, which are being dissolved as part of a Government plan.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton and Environment Minister Phil Hogan were in Swords, Co Dublin today to open the office in Fingal County Council.

The ministers also announced details of new services for micro and small enterprises.

Mr Bruton said the reforms were about delivering "improved supports, in a better location, to more businesses and ultimately create jobs".
