THERE'S plenty to discover in your own town if you look hard enough.
But local -- and visiting tourists -- didn't have to look too far in Belturbet, Co Cavan, at the weekend.
Hundreds of people attended the 'Discover Belturbet' day on Saturday, which saw scores of free events take place from noon until the early hours of Sunday morning.
Local businesses set up stalls, tradesmen performed demonstrations, and children took part in rowing and raft building.
Walking tours took place to the local moate and bailey, while up to 150 people attended a free concert which had John Sheehan of The Dubliners as special guest.
The day was organised to promote tourism in the area and to help boost the local economy.
