Neighbours 'terrorised' by egg-throwing youths
MOST people don't have to think twice about answering a knock at their front door, writes Majella O'Sullivan.
But it's different for Maureen (not her real name), a woman in her mid-50s who lives alone in the Deerpark area of Killarney, in Co Kerry.
On opening her door last Saturday night, a raw egg went flying past her head.
The attempted "egging" is just one example of the anti-social behaviour that Maureen says is ruining the lives of many residents where she lives.
She says locals are being terrorised by gangs of marauding youths.
"They're hitting balls off cars and off our windows. They've broken car windows and the street light outside my house several times, and the roaring and shouting out of them at all hours is dreadful," she said.
