AA Roadwatch is warning motorists to expect delays as some schools have re-opened after the summer holidays.

There are many delays on Dublin roads this morning as traffic builds around commuter towns.

According to AA Roadwatch, traffic is busiest northbound on the M7 Limerick/Dublin Road from J10 Naas South to J9 Naas North and then at J6 Castlewarden.

There are no further reports of a collision at J7. It's also slow on the N7 Naas Road inbound from Newlands Cross to Long Mile Road but it eases out after that.

Meanwhile in the city centre, there are delays eastbound along Grand Canal from Clogher Road to Ranelagh Road.

There is also heavy traffic on the Swords Road from the Whitehall Flyover to Collins Ave and then from Clonliffe Road to the NCR junction on Dorset Street.

On the M50, traffic is slow southbound at J9 Red Cow and from J11 Tallaght past J12 Firhouse. Northbound it's busy from J12 to J11.
