Motorists urged to take extra caution due to widespread frost
Motorists have been warned to take extra care on the roads this morning due to widespread frost.
AA Roadwatch has reported frost in many parts of Leinster, including around Mullingar, Navan, Kilkenny city and the towns of Carlow and Wicklow.
"Make sure to give yourself extra time to de-ice your car, and increase the braking distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front. Gardai are also reporting wet roads around Sligo Town," the AA said.
Met Eireann has also warned of icy patches and fog this morning, which are expected to clear at the day progresses.

At the moment traffic is moving well throughout the country.
A crash on he N81 Tallaght Bypass is blocking traffic heading towards the M50 before Whitestown Way. Emergency services are at the scene and traffic is being diverted.
