Motorcyclist killed in road accident this evening

A motorcyclist has been killed in a single-vehicle collision in Kerry.

Gardaí in Killarney Co Kerry are investigating the accident which occurred at around 6.45pm outside the village of Sneem, Co Kerry.

The motorcyclist came off the motorcycle and collided with a ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred on the Cahirciveen to Sneem Road, around three miles outside Sneem.

The man's remains have been removed to Tralee Hospital where a post mortem is expected to take place tomorrow.

No one else was injured in the collision, gardai have confirmed.

The road was closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination but has since reopened.
