Swingers have organised a Halloween party

An angry mother was horrified to learn she has booked a family break in a hotel the same weekend a swingers party is being held.

The woman believes it is inappropriate for the 'Halloween fancy dress' bash to be held at the luxury Silver Springs Moran Hotel in Cork during the mid-term.

She said she will be forced to cancel the break which her and her husband had saved up for as a treat for their three children as they didn’t get a summer holiday.

“We booked in months ago and we’ve paid good pennies to go down and I do not want my children, especially teens, exposed to this in a family friendly hotel,” she told Independent.ie.

“We are going to end up not going because I don’t want my children exposed to that until they are old enough to make decisions like that themselves.

“I rang the hotel about my concerns and it was incredulous to hear the reply. I was asked was I prudish.”

The event – which has been advertised on several swingers websites –  is logged under the 'Halloween fancy dress event on November 1st.

It is believed hotel management did not know the Halloween party was a cover for the swingers party until recent days.

When questioned, a spokeswoman for the hotel group said it was policy not to comment on guests or events. She would also not comment on her claims about the reaction of staff.

“I can’t comment on any event at the hotel,” she said.

“That’s hotel policy.”

Organisers have ask those attending to have respect “for yourself as the hosts, hotel staff and other residence”.

“What happens after in the privacy your own rooms is totally up to ye,” it added in the online post.

“Pls  guys do not mention 'swing'.”

The irate mother, who asked not to be named, added: “Come hell or high water we will not be bringing our children down there.”
