Missing teenager

Gardaí have asked for the public's help in tracing a missing 16-year-old.

Yulissa Stoica was last seen at 2pm on Good Friday at Ballymoneen Road in Knocknacarra, Galway.

She is described as being 5ft 7in in height, with a slight build; long, brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Salthill Garda Station in Galway on 091 514720, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666111 or any garda station.

Pedestrian killed

Tributes have been paid to a pedestrian who was knocked down and killed on his way home from a night out.

Kieran Doherty, a single man in his 60s, was killed instantly when he was struck by a car close to his home in Admiran Park, Stranorlar, Co Donegal, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

He was "dedicated" to caring for his elderly parents, friends said.

Gardaí are investigating the incident, which happened around 2.50am on the Letterkenny Road near McClay's Corner.
