Miners dig deep to reach their peak
TWENTY miners will experience highs and lows as they tackle a charity challenge today. They will walk from Ireland's lowest point underground to it's highest point above ground.
"We will walk from 8km below the ground at Tara Mines in Navan and then climb to the top of Carrauntoohil in Co Kerry," said Joe McParland.
The miners have spent almost a year preparing for the extremes of terrain that lie ahead of them to raise funds for Temple Street Children's Hospital.
