UNITED States First Lady Michelle Obama will visit Ireland next month when her husband, President Barack Obama, is in the North for a summit of G8 leaders.
The Irish Independent revealed in January that Mrs Obama had previously expressed a wish to bring her daughters Malia (14) and Sasha (11) to visit their father's Irish ancestral village of Moneygall, Co Offaly. Mr Obama visited the village with his wife in May 2011.
The G8 summit, hosted by British Prime Minister David Cameron, takes place in Lough Erne, Co Fermanagh, on June 17 and 18.
During Taoiseach Enda Kenny's St Patrick's Day visit to New York, Mr Obama indicated that he'd like to return to the Republic. However, it now looks like his wife will return before he does.
