Michaela Harte pre-trial hearing begins
The pre-trial hearing in the Michaela Harte murder trial has begun in Mauritius.
Ms Harte was found strangled in the bathroom of her room in the Legends hotel complex in Mauritius in January.
Two men, Avinash Treebhowon (30) and Sandip Moneea (41), have been accused of accused of murdering the 27-year-old.
Michaela was on honeymoon with her husband, Down footballer John McAreavey. The young teacher was the daughter of Tyrone Gaelic Football manager Mickey Harte.
Today's hearing will determine what witnesses will be called for the full trial, which is expected to be held later in the summer. John McAreavey may be one of the witnesses called.
A source close to the Harte family said they are all “anxiously waiting” for the outcome of the first stage of the trial to be completed.
