Mia puts wheels in motion for Tour de Picnic
A 12-YEAR-OLD who suffered severe burns as a baby and has since had her leg amputated will lead hundreds of cyclists and runners as they make their way to Electric Picnic this summer.
Mia Keaveney launched the fifth annual Tour de Picnic yesterday and unveiled a new multi-sensory garden for the Laura Lynn Foundation, built on the back of last year's fundraising.
Mia arrived in Ireland from China when she was one. Growing up, she has been a regular out-patient at Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin.
She was fitted for prosthesis last October and will cycle alongside this year's Tour de Picnic participants from Athy to Stradbally in September, to help raise funds for a worthy cause.
Mia was joined by model Michele McGrath at the launch in Dublin.
