Memorial Mass for murdered detective
THE family and colleagues of murdered garda Adrian Donohoe will attend an anniversary mass in Dundalk tomorrow.
Large crowds are expected to attend the Mass at 7.30pm in the Redemptorist Church, where his state funeral was held.
A garda spokesman confirmed that there will also be a vigil in his memory on Saturday night at the spot where he was shot dead.
A year to the day that he was murdered, the candle-lit vigil will walk from Bellurgan credit union to St Pat's GAA club, which Garda Donohoe was so involved with.
A garda spokesman said: "This is a very hard time for all of us in Dundalk. Adrian is never out of our minds and this (mass and vigil) is to show solidarity with his family and his colleagues."
Both events are open to the public and gardai are advising that there will be diversions on the Dundalk to Carlingford road on Saturday night.
