Former Taoiseach Charlie Haughey's wife, Maureen Haughey, left €9m in her will.

Papers lodged with the Probate Office in Dublin last week revealed the figure.

Ms Haughey passed away on March 17, 2017.

She was the daughter of former Taoiseach Seán Lemass and lived most of her married life in the Gandon-designed mansion Abbeville, in Kinsealy, near Malahide, in north Co Dublin.

Following the death of her husband in 2006, she moved to a modern, purpose-built home on the edge of the estate close to her children.

Charlie and Maureen Haughey bought and began to restore Abbeville in 1969.

It was shortly after he had been reappointed minister for finance in Jack Lynch's government.
