Man who died erecting ESB pole named

THE father of four who died after being electrocuted while erecting an ESB pole has been named as Johnny Geraghty (58), from Leitrim in Loughrea, Co Galway.

Three separate investigations are under way into the industrial accident in Co Clare on Monday.

Mr Geraghty was electrocuted after he came into contact with overhead power lines at 12.30pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his remains were brought to Limerick Regional Hospital.

The incident occurred as Mr Geraghty was erecting an electricity pole for ESB Networks. The Galway man was working as a contractor for the company.
