Man shot in the leg in botched attack in Coolock

A 21-YEAR-OLD MAN was shot the leg tonight during a botched gun attack in Coolock in Dublin.

The attack happened at 9.20pm tonight in the Moatview area near Priorswood.

The man was believed to have been hit once in the attack.

He was treated at  the scene by emergency personnel from Dublin Fire Brigade’s ambulance crews who had received a 999 call.

The man has been taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment for his injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

The scene is sealed off and a forensic examination of the area is under way.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses.

This is the second shooting incident in Coolock in less than a week.

A 22-year-old was shot in the leg and arm outside a shop in the Ferrycarrig Park area last Thursday.
