Man shot in chest and arm outside Dublin pub

A 32-YEAR-old man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the arm and chest by a gunman in Ballyfermot, Dublin last night.

The incident happened on Sarsfield Road, outside Finnegan’s pub at 11.10pm when a lone gunman approached the victim who was sitting in a car.

He fired a number of shots at the man who was injured, but able to drive to Cloverhill Prison where he summoned help.

Witnesses at the scene described a silver saloon car leaving the scene and a silver car was found on fire at Golden Bridge Terrace, Inchicore. It is understood that Gardai have recovered a gun.

The injured man was taken to Tallaght Hospital and his injuries are described as non life threatening.

Gardai are asking anyone who was in the Sarsfield Road area of Ballyfermot or in the Golden Bridge Terrace area to contact them on 01 666 7200.
