Man quizzed over Fitzpatrick death may hold key information
GARDAI believe a man being questioned over the death of Dean Fitzpatrick last May could have vital information about the stabbing.
Dean (23), a father of one and brother of missing teenager, Amy Fitzpatrick, was found lying outside an apartment block at Northern Cross on the Malahide Road in Dublin.
He had received a single stab wound in the stomach and was pronounced dead when he arrived at Beaumont hospital.
Shortly after the killing, the victim's stepfather, Dave Mahon, was arrested for questioning by gardai but was later released without charge.
As part of follow-up inquiries, officers from the investigation team based in Coolock station, arrested a man in his early 40s in the local area yesterday morning.
He was still being questioned last night.
Gardai believe the man was in the area around the time of the stabbing and could be able to help them with their inquiries.
The victim's sister, Amy, has been missing since New Year's night, 2008, when she disappeared after leaving a friend's house on the Costa del Sol in Spain.
