Man quizzed about frenzied knife attack on solicitor

A man is being questioned by gardai about a savage attack on a Dublin solicitor at her home two years ago.

This is the second arrest in the investigation into the attack.

Violet Quigley (46), a solicitor with the ESB, sustained multiple stab wounds during the frenzied attack at her home in Donaghmede Park on the northside of Dublin in April 2011.

She managed to break free and opened a window and screamed for help. The knife attacker fled.

Gardai believe the attacker was paid money to murder Ms Quigley.

As a result of new information, gardai detained a man in his 30s following a raid in the north inner city yesterday morning. He was taken to Coolock garda station.
