Man questioned over threat to shoot binman
A FILE is being prepared for the DPP after a man was arrested and released for allegedly threatening to shoot a binman for not collecting his rubbish.
The 44-year-old was arrested on Saturday morning and detained at Finglas garda station in Dublin, where he was questioned about the incident.
The man, who is from the Finglas area, was released on Saturday night and a garda spokesman confirmed that a file would be sent to the DPP.
It followed an incident before Christmas during which a bin collector allegedly had a Glock pistol shoved in his face.
It is understood that the householder was angry because his bins hadn't been collected.
Gardai later searched premises and discovered two handguns, including a loaded Glock, as well as a machine pistol.
Ammunition and other serious crime paraphernalia were also seized. However, the man was not at the premises when the gardai arrived.
