Man killed after car hits tree in Kildare

A man in his 20s has died after the car he was travelling in hit a tree.

The single vehicle accident occurred at Hawkfield in Newbridge at around 7pm yesterday evening.


A 20-year-old man, who was the back seat passenger in the car, was fatally injured.


The other two occupants of the vehicle, both male and in their early 20s, received serious but non-life-threatening injuries.


The three males were taken to Naas General Hospital where the deceased was pronounced dead.


The road is currently closed as Garda forensic collision investigators examine the scene.
