Man in his thirties dies after car collides with tree

A man in his thirties was killed when his car collided with a tree this morning.

Gardai at Slane, Co Meath are investigating the single vehicle collision which occurred at Kellystown, Slane, Co Meath (N2) in the early hours of this morning.

It is understood the man was fatally injured when the car he was driving left the road and hit a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene of the collision is closed pending the completion of a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Diversions for motorists are in place.
