Man in his early 20s due to be charged in relation to crash which claimed the life of 23-year-old man

A man in his early 20s is due to be charged in relation to a fatal accident at 4am in Co Wicklow.

He is due to appear at a sitting of Bray District Court.  

A 23-year-old man was killed when the car in which he was travelling collided with a wall.

The young man was travelling as a passenger in the car which hit a wall at Croneyhorn on the R725 between Shillelagh and Carnew, in Co Wicklow.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem is to be arranged.

Meanwhile, the man in his early twenties was arrested in connection with the investigation. He was detained at Gorey Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.  

Gardaí had appealed for witnesses, anyone with information or who may have travelled the R725 at Croneyhorn between 3am–4am this morning to come forward.
