Man in court charged with OAP burglary
A MAN has appeared at a special court sitting after an elderly woman was tied up and her home was burgled.
John Joyce (50), of no fixed abode but originally from Blanchardstown, Dublin, was brought by gardai to a special sitting of Limerick District Court.
Mr Joyce is charged with the false imprisonment of Catherine O'Meara in her home at Sandy Lane, Boher, Co Limerick, last Thursday.
He is also charged with burglary of cash and two rings to the value of €1,241 at the same address on the same date.
Judge Aeneas McCarthy last night remanded Mr Joyce in custody to appear before the same court again tomorrow.
