Man held over €200,000 cannabis seizure

A man, aged in his 20s, is being questioned by gardai following the seizure of €200,000 worth of cannabis.

Sniffer dogs were used in the search of a house in the Carlow area yesterday, resulting in the arrest of the young man.

Gardai from the Carlow Detective Unit said that the search, aided by the Dog Unit was made as part of an ongoing investigation.

The cannabis seized has an estimated street value of €200,000, subject to analysis, gardai said.

The man was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Carlow garda station.
