GARDAI have arrested a man in connection with an armed bank robbery.
The suspect, in his mid-20s, is being questioned about the hold-up at the Bank of Ireland in Rathfarnham, south Dublin, at lunchtime on Thursday October 11.
He was arrested in the Ballyfermot area of the city and is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Investigating officers at Rathfarnham Garda Station can hold the man for up to three days.
Customers were terrified when a lone man armed with a shotgun walked into the bank at around 2.15pm.
The raider demanded cash before making off on foot.
It is believed several thousand euro was handed over by staff during the heist.
Gardai have scoured CCTV footage from the area as part of their investigation.
