Man dies as motorbike hits wall

A motorcyclist has died following a single-vehicle collision.

The male driver, aged in his mid-30s, is believed to have lost control of his motorbike and careered into a wall.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The incident occurred on the R551 near Ballyheigue, Co Kerry, at approximately 6.45pm yesterday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem is expected to take place today at University Hospital Kerry in Tralee.

Officers at Listowel garda station have appealed for anyone with information about the crash to contact them.

Elsewhere, a male pedestrian (33) is in a serious condition in hospital after he was hit by a car at Deerpark, Charleville, Co Cork, at around 3.20am yesterday.
