Man dies and five people hospitalised following three-vehicle collision

A man in his 50s has died and five people have been taken to hospital following a serious three-vehicle collision this afternoon.

The incident occurred on the Collin Road in Ballyclare, Co Antrim, near the junction with the Braepark Road.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said that three fire appliances attended the scene.

Ulster Unionist councillor David Arthurs tweeted: "Thoughts and prayers with the families of those caught up in this accident".

The road was closed for much of the day, it has since been reopened.
