A MAN has died after a shooting at a 'cash for clothes' business in an industrial estate in west Dublin.

The man, who is in his mid-40s, was shot at around 9.30am this morning in the Greenogue Industrial Estate, Rathcoole, Co Dublin.

The man, believed to be from Eastern Europe, was seriously injured at the scene.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A man working in one of the nearby buildings said he had not heard the gun shot.

"A girl came out screaming," he said. "A lot of people came out about 20 altogether."

He said they then spotted the gardai and ambulance arriving.

"At first we thought it might have been to do with Love/Hate series - they've been filming here for the last few weeks so we thought that was what it was."

The man said there was a clothes recycling company based on the premises.

"You would always see a lot of cars coming into it and out of it," he said.

Gardai were going door-to-door in the industrial estate and questioning the large volume of traffic going in and out.

Clondalkin gardai have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them in Clondalking on 01 6667600.
