Man crushed to death under car

A MAN was crushed to death when a car jack slipped and the vehicle he was working on collapsed on top of him.

The 32-year-old Lithuanian was working on the underside of the vehicle outside his home at Inniscrone Mews, off Avenue Road in Dundalk, when the accident happened at about 12.30pm yesterday.

Military plane in emergency return

A US military plane had to declare an emergency and return to Shannon Airport after experiencing engine problems yesterday.

The crew of a US Navy Hercules plane had to shut down one of the aircraft's four engines when it gave trouble.

Garda appeal over missing girl (16)

FEARS are growing for the safety of a girl who has been missing for almost two months. Michelle Doyle (16), from Moyglass Road in Lucan, Dublin, was last seen at 3pm on March 14. It is believed she was going to the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.

She is described as 5ft 6ins in height with a slight build, blue eyes and blonde hair. Anyone with information is urged to contact 1800 666111.

Kenny to fly flag in US once again

TAOISEACH Enda Kenny is flying to the US again today in an attempt to restore the country's battered economic reputation.

Mr Kenny is going to New York to tell key business figures on Wall Street that "Ireland is open for business".
