Man charged after girl (7) seriously injured in 'hit and run'
A man has been charged with a string of motoring offences following an alleged hit-and-run accident involving a child.
The seven-year-old girl was left badly injured after the incident at Creggan Heights, Derry, on Friday evening.
Police in Foyle have charged a 23-year-old man, who was arrested on Saturday, with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily injury, having no licence, failing to stop, failing to remain at the scene and a number of other motoring offences.
He will appear before Derry Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
The Public Prosecution Service is to review all the charges.
A 21-year-old man who was also arrested has been released on bail.
