A security breach at Dail Eireann involving a man who tried to storm the chamber during Leaders' Questions was thwarted.
An usher was forced to put the man into an armlock after he tried to gain access to the main chamber while Taoiseach Enda Kenny was being grilled by the opposition on Budget matters.
It is understood the man from Sligo had been taking part in an organised tour of the building and had been signed in by a minister of state.
An Oireachtas spokesman confirmed the man was removed from Dail and the incident was reported to gardai.
Leaders' Questions went ahead uninterrupted.
