Man (70s) dies after early morning collision

A man in his 70s has died following a car crash in Co Limerick early this morning.

The collision happened on the Condell Road at around 8am this morning.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was brought to University Hospital Limerick where he has since passed away.

The driver of the other car did not require medical attention.

To allow for forensic investigation the road is closed both ways between the Clonmacken and Shelbourne Road Lower.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Mayorstone Park Garda Station 061-456980, The Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
